Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was excited to donate over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.

“Last year, I had the opportunity to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are an essential part of this community.”

Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would get her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they are given to cook healthy, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume help along with money-management and job classes to help people get back on their feet.

Because around 50 pounds of food is given to each family to last them a month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.

“Everyone was so excited that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even showed our group their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
