What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Broad Ripple Service Experts is here with some of the most common air conditioning problems in Indianapolis.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you may need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Broad Ripple Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity can cause more condensation so an additional issue to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is blocked. If you can check these issues, you may be able to find the problem; if not, give Broad Ripple Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause major cooling issues. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a frequent issue when homes are constructed. Broad Ripple Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Remember that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Broad Ripple Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
